I'm a programmer like Adam by day, and I write for my kids at night and in the mornings, on weekends, and when I can find the time. Don't be discouraged, write what the Lord puts on your heart to write, whether it be an adventure story, a romance, a historical fiction, or a non-fiction. Layout looks good - attractive but simple. I think people who are in careers that require a very logical analytical way of thinking need a good creative outlet when they get home, and writing is a great option.
